Nikon P6000 Flagship Point-and-Shoot: 13.5MP, Built-In GPS Geotagging and Yes, RAW

Nikon's flagship P6000 point-and-shoot is official, and pretty much everything we heard. Besides long-awaited RAW support (not on Macs, sorry), the 13.5-megapixel shooter has built-in GPS geotagging, Nikon's DSLR controls, manual pop-up flash (which is so fun to play with it's almost worth the $500 price of admission by itself) and other pro-ish features for more manual control. The lens is a 4x wide-angle, and it'll do up to ISO 3200 at full resolution, or 6400 at three megapixels. The most oddball feature? An Ethernet jack. So it's like a free trip to 2001 to boot. Here's all the details and another shot.

garmin road tech zumo

This is a special garmin zumo customized for Harley Davidson. The preloaded map contains all the listings of Harley Davidson stores in the country and there’s also the new feature on harley-davidson.com where it allows all those ‘born to be wild’ types to plan their road trip in advances. You can also share your routes using the SD card slot.

Road Tech zūmo’s glove-friendly design with left-handed controls and oversized touchscreen buttons. The waterproof (IEC 529 IPX-7 standards) device comes ready to go right out of the box…

With optional XM subscriptions and an XM antenna, you can check the weather, move ahead of traffic and listen to the radio when you travel with Road Tech zūmo in the U.S. As an alternative, zūmo can receive optional TMC traffic alerts (in select cities) when used with a compatible traffic receiver.

Other must have feature for motorcyclists is the ability to hear directions and make phone calls with your helmet on. Thanks to the added bluetooth function you can make calls using Zumo’s interface and listen to turn-by-turn directions too.

PaPeRo GPS robot

PaPeRo GPS robot

NEC’s PaPeRo robot has been around since 1997 but recently just made head lines again. Papero is a home robot and its name stands for Partner-type-Personal-Robot. We’re not sure about the details but it sounds like Papero somehow manages to beam itself into your GPS navigation system :)

For example, when a user in house tells the robot that he is ‘going to Yokohama on a date,’ the robot recognizes that person’s voice and uploads the information to the server via wireless LAN, etc. The server performs an arithmetical operation on the uploaded information in consideration of the dialogue history between the robot and the user, the knowledge information inputted to the robot, the season, the time, etc.

Then, information on the best route for the user to go to Yokohama on a date is calculated, and the result is sent to the user’s car navigation system, etc and displayed on the screen. Therefore, the user only has to get in the car and talk to the robot to reach his destination by the best route.

Also, the company added a twist to the car navigation screen by displaying a character resembling PaPeRo on it.

gps navigation on htc touch diamond

GPS navigation software maker ALK just introduced CoPilot LIve 7, an exclusive edition for HTC Touch Diamond.

The software comes on a DVD which automatically transfers and installs maps and software to Touch Diamond. You don’t have to do much as far telling CoPilot how to talk to the GPS receiver since it automatically detects the phone’s built-in GPS receiver.

The display is apparently also modified for Touch Diamond and you can use the wheel to zoom in and out. It is currently out in Europe for £60 for UK and Ireland maps and £90 for maps of all of Europe.
