It's bad enough that lack of memory bogs an Alzheimer Patient, but keeping track of them can takes its toll on the minders. Spanish company Keruve has come out with a GPS device, which can be worn like a bracelet, to keep a tab on Alzheimer's patients. The system is made up of a special bracelet and a PSP like handheld device that indicates the location of the person wearing the bracelet. The bracelet is water resistant and can only be taken off using a special tool. The bracelet GPS receiver works with GSM1800 and GSM900 networks to broadcast its location to the base unit. The system has a battery life of 3.5 days and should the levels reach low, an alarm sounds off.
The GPS Bracelet device for Alzheimer Patients is available in Europe and sells for €850 or $1.345.
