Amcor launches low cost full 3D PNDs in the US

Announced today at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, AMCOR, a US-based consumer electronics company is set to launch a range of six low-cost Personal Navigation Devices between $149 and $279.

Among these the AMCOR Model 4400 features 3-D buildings, landmarks and terrain elevation - using the Nav N Go navigation software and Tele Atlas map data - on a 4.3 inches screen for $179. The

Amcor model 4890 offers the same software with a 4.8 inches screen and Bluetooth support for hands free calling.

This new range sets a record low price for this kind of hardware and software specifications, further illustrating the continued decline in prices for PNDs in the United States, while at the same time Garmin, Magellan and a few others are launching high end 'niche' devices priced at over $1,000.
