i-Mate 810 is the name of the new rugged smartphone that will be released at MWC 2009 next week. Like we just said the selling point for this phone must it is rubberized outer shell and impact resistant QVGA touch screen.
i-Mate 810 runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, offers GSM and 3G connectivity, has a full QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, and a 2MP camera.
What we’re not used to seeing with most smartphones is the built-in digital compass that i-Mate 810 supports. We’re not sure if you have to run a special app to get figure out your heading though. Obviously the 810 has a GPS receiver as well but no word on what kind of navigation software if at all is installed on it….
