ASUS Eee PC T91 integrates GPS receiver
Asus just announced ASUS Eee PC T91 - a netbook with 8.9″ swivel touchscreen and a GPS receiver.
Eee PC T91 will come in white or black and will be loaded with touch optimized software such as foto fun, memos, touch gate, and a special IE toolbar.

Tired of having to look over at your GPS when driving? Asus has announced the R710 GPS which uses HUD technology to project directions to your destination onto the windshield in front of you. The idea behind the device is to make you less distracted when driving. A map on your windshield sounds pretty distracting to us. Other features include Bluetooth, microSD expansion, and a media player. No word yet on pricing or availability.
Asus R50A which we undiscovered at CES at the beginning of this year has finally hit U.S. shores. The device just got its FCC approval meaning it will be available to American consumers very soon.
It looks like the initial specs we posted are still valid including the integrated GPS receiver.

Asus’ new P320 PDA phone is also a GPS navigation device
Not too long ago we mentioned the Asus P320 PDA as having passed through the FCC, now we learned that it has just been launched by Asus in Taiwan. So aside from the features that we already know that includes its Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, GPS, 2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and a microSD card slot we now know that it retails around $390. Certainly not a bad price for such a seemingly powerful device.
In addition to these features, Asus has also added two additional useful features into the P320, the Auto Cleaner Function and Ur Time. The first application automatically and fully closes an application after it was used,which frees up space and memory usage to make your currently open application run faster and a little smoother. While the second application is useful for when setting up meetings with attendees coming from different countries. It lets you set up four different country times on the P320 for quick country-specific time referencing. Of course these are over and above the P320’s GPS feature which brags of faster satellite pinpoint and download for users no matter where they are located anywhere in the world.
Sadly, no information is available yet as to whether this PDA phone will be available internationally, but with the growing popularity of GPS-enabled device in the US, we are hoping that it will hit the streets in a not so distant future.

In addition to P320 and ZX1 Asus seems to have another PDA phone up their sleeves. The new P560.
Asus P560 should be marketed next June for approximately 500 €. It will be shipped with the GPS navigation kit including the mounts, car charger, and the iGO 6 navigation software with regional European maps preloaded on a 512MB memory card.
P560 will use Windows Mobile 6.1 as well as the new touch screen interface.

Asus R700t TMC GPS Navigation Device
Asus announced in Taiwan the R700t TMC-enabled GPS navigation device. R700t has TMC (Traffic Message Channel) for real time traffic information. The Asus R700t TMC edition sports a 4.3-inch touchscreen display with 480x272 resolution, and support for realistic 3D Maps.
The device comes with integrated media player that support playback of MP3 music, Bluetooth, FM tuner, and MicroSD card slot.

At CeBIT in Germany Asus announced a GPS enabled PDAphone called M536 which has full qwerty keyboard in the front just like a Blackberry.
Asus M536 is the successor to Asus M530W but adds new features such as the touch screen, a biometric finger print reader and a GPS receiver. Kind of different with M536 is the square screen resolution at 320x320 instead of the usual 320x240 pixels.

Asus M536 will be marketed in June or July 2008 with an approximate price of 550 €.

People at Asus decided that they could not let HTC be the only one coming out with Windows Mobile devices this year. Second quarter of the year Asus will be releasing a direct competitor of HTC Touch called Asus Galaxy Mini (code name). Asus Galaxy Mini is a PDA Phone with GPS which is very compact in size and is considered an entry level device. It runs under Windows Mobile 6 (probably WM 6.1 when it comes out) and has a TI processor running at 200Mhz. As far as connectivity it features WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and GSM/GPRS/EDGE.
Other features include MicroSD card slot, 2MP camera, mini USB, and a QVGA screen. It will be available several colors such as pink, blue and champagne.
It will be out in Europe and retail for somewhere in between 300 and 400€…

Asus' new flagship GPS device is known as the R700, and it pretty much contains what any other decent GPS navigation device has these days. Asus has been pretty hush hush concerning its pricing and shipping date, but we do know that the company has already confirmed an European debut sometime this year.
We have some pics and the full specs from CES 2008 about ASUS’ latest UMPC, Asus R50A. We also had a chance to play with this GPS enabled UMPC and were quite pleased with its first impression it left on us. It felt like it was well built and we found it quite responsive considering it was running Windows Vista.

A neat feature of Asus R300 is the fact that it has a light sensor that automatically sets the backlight brightness for optimal viewing. Other devices have similar functions that set the brightness according to local time but obviously a light sensor is superior. Asus R300 also has hands free bluetooth functionality and can even read out loud your text messages from your bluetooth enabled phone. It also has an FM transmitter so you can use your car’s audio system for voice guidance, etc…

Asus R300 and Asus R700 GPS Multimedia Navigators this November: "
HP with it’s iPAQ 310/314 Travel Companion is not the only new entrant into multimedia/GPS navigation device category. French site Mobinaute got their hands on the user manuals for a couple of similar devices from Asus - R300 and R700.
Asus R300 is lower end stand alone GPS navigator that will be able to play various media files, including MP3, WMA, AAC audio and MPEG-4, H.263 video.
Asus R300 Multimedia Navigator will be 13.7 mm thick, weight 300 gr and have 3.5″ touchscreen with 400 MHz Samsung CPU, 128/64 MB of memory and 1300 mAh battery inside. It will also come with built-in FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0, MicroSD memory card slot, optional TMC and ability to receive SMS messages.
Asus R700 is high end stand alone navigator with big 4.3″ 480x272 px touchscreen, 126 X 80 X 13,5 mm dimensions, 260 gram weight and integrated RDS-TMC traffic receiver. It’s other specs are pretty similar to Asus R300: 400 MHz Samsung CPU, 128/65 Mb memory, audio.video player and Bluetooth 2.0.
Both Asus R700 and Asus R300 are expected to launch in Europe this November .

Asus recently introduced U3S, a new high end laptop, that has an integrated GPS as well as an external GPS antenna jack. U3S has a 13.3″ widescreen LCD screen and magnesium aluminum alloy exterior. It runs on a Intel Centrino Duo Processor, and operates with Windows Vista.
We have to mention that the integrated GPS is not standard but an optional feature that probably will cost you a few hundred dollars extra. If GPS does not interest you, you can get 3G connectivity, or what they call a ‘turbo memory’ instead:

Asus’ new R600 GPS navigation device just recently made it through FCC, getting one step closer to being released in the U.S. Asus is aiming at the mid-high range GPS market with this device with features like a light sensor that will automatically adjust the LCD backlight to enhance viewing, bluetooth connectivity to make and receive hands free calls, and a large 4.3″ touch screen.
Asus is also flexing their muscles with a 2200mAh Li-Ion battery and an SD slot that can support up to 4GB where as most other sat nav systems out there can only support 2GB for expansion.
