Mio Lovebird

Mio’s GPS phone which we talked about back at CES 2008 looks like has an official name: Lovebird. We caught a glimpse of this one side GPS navigation, other side phone device at MSMobiles which reports that Mio Lovebird will be coming with the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional according to specs revealed at CTIA 2008.


Other details that are now clear is that it will do both GPS and A-GPS, support quad band GSM/GPRS, and EDGE networks and run on a 400Mhz Samsung 2443 processor.


Mio Lovebird will have 64MB of RAM, and 2GB of ROM (maps?) and will offer up to 5 hours of talk time. Screen resolution is 320x240 pixels.

ONIX110 is the entry level GPS navigation system from Bushnell. It is not for driving directions though, it is for helping you from getting lost in the wilderness.


With its built-in memory to store 100 waypoints and 50 routes it should be enough to get you back to where you started, and with its IPX6 water resistant standard things should be OK even if you cross small streams on your way.

Motorola Smart Rider is the new in vehicle phone from Motorola. Smart Rider phone, is an in-vehicle (fixed) device featuring GPS navigation, interactive voice activation, and Bluetooth wireless.


The hands free feature allows users to converse, navigate and tend to business while on-the-go.


The Smart Rider which targets professional drivers for the enterprise has the following features:

We thought these cheap looking GPS navigation systems would never make it out of China but we were wrong. Australians now can get their hands on this sat nav system that comes with reverse gear camera. Called NR432, this GPS navigation system has a 4.3″ wide touch screen, offers text to speech function, and uses the latest Navteq Australian maps. The navigation software was developed by Smart2Go.


What’s really nice about this system is of course the rear view camera that is wireless. This means you don’t have to rewire your whole vehicle - but still do keep in mind you’ll have to get power to the camera somehow.
